We Found Another Hamster Book!

I didn't think another book on hamsters existed, but we found one. I think Hannah has every book ever written about hamsters. She knows all about them, too. Ask her anything and she can tell you what you want to know. She is the hamster expert. When they move into their new house, Hannah will be getting a hamster. And is she ever prepared! We went to Border's today and to Olive Garden for dinner. That child really loves shrimp. She ate over a dozen. She had salad, bread sticks, spaghetti with shrimp, and a chocolate and strawberry dessert that was to die for. Then we picked up Seamus and went over to Aunt Cindy's so she could get her birthday presents. We sang all the way home. A great day!

Better Safe Than Sorry

Yesterday was Hannah's 8th birthday. Her parents picked her up from a wonderful week at the beach with Gina's aunt and uncle. We met them for dinner at Fuddruckers along with Brandon, Kellie, Steve, and Wesley. We made plans to take Hannah and Seamus to St. Michael's today. We even called ahead and found a dog friendly place to eat. This morning the weather reports all said that we were to have severe storms in the afternoon. The thought of being stuck in a severe storm and not being able to get inside because we had the dog with us was not what we had in mind. Also, we didn't want to be driving across the Bay Bridge in a storm, so we decided not to go. We picked up Hannah at 8, went to IHOP for breakfast, stopped at Target for a new Nintendo game and came home. Hannah played her game and we decided to make homemade potato salad, deviled eggs, and chicken for dinner. We did some sitting on the porch, playing checkers, fixing lunch, and began cooking dinner. No storm!! I still think we made the right decision given the facts we had, but Hannah was disappointed. Maybe we can go in the next couple of weeks. By the way, Hannah made the deviled eggs all by herself. She is a great cook!

Miss Giggles - The Potato

Yesterday was Hannah's last day of second grade. Her teacher said she was a potato. She thought this was terribly funny and giggled about it all day. After playing the piano with Grandpa, we went to Hunan Treasure to celebrate her being a third grader. According to Hannah, third grade is very hard. She will have to do real hard work in cursive. She is on the Honor Roll and won the Effort Award in her class. Tomorrow, she leave for a week at the beach. We will miss her.

Hannah's Last Week in Second Grade

This is Hannah's last week of school. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday she has only half days, so Grandpa has been picking her up around 1:30 and bringing her over here. Tomorrow, Friday, we are going to eat out at a Chinese place to celebrate the end of the school year. She is looking forward to her Sesame Chicken. Next week she gets to spend the entire week at the beach with her Aunt Denise and Uncle Brad. She is so excited about going. She has many activities planned. I hope Aunt Denise and Uncle Brad can keep up with her!
