Broken Toe

Hannah broke her big right toe last weekend slipping on a frisbee. She has to wear a soft cast for 4 weeks. We picked her up today and she is walking very well. We went to Borders. She found two more hamster books and then we went to Killarney House for dinner. After eating all our tomatoes, cucumber, and carrots from our salad, she began eating her dinner. She had chicken, mashed parsnips and carrots, mashed potatoes with greens, brocolli, cauliflower, squash, and most of my shrimp. For dessert she had a root beer float. We saw llamas and horses on the way home.

Crabs

We stopped at Shoreline for crabs after getting Hannah. She is a real pro now when it comes to picking crabs. She also had fun playing with Seamus.

Heat Wave

We are in the middle of a heat wave. The temperature today was near 100. We picked Hannah up at 11:30 and went to Annapolis Mall for lunch and then saw the movie Cars. She enjoyed the movie, I thought it was boring. We came back to our house for dinner. On our way back from taking her home, we ran into a terrible storm with lightning, thunder, hail, and blinding rain. By the time we got home, the rain had stopped and the temperature dropped a bit. On Thursday, we will pick her up around 3:30 and stop for crabs.

Just Hanging Out

After a short trip to Border's, we drove to our house and just hung out. We cut out paper dolls and clothes and made deviled eggs to have with dinner. We sang songs and told jokes and had a great time. Grandpa and I are so lucky. We get to see Hannah once or twice a week. She is such a joy to be with. She has an opinion on everything and loves just being with us. I have some friends who don't see their grandkids very often. They say that they don't have the time, or that they take too much energy. They don't know what they are missing.

St. Michaels

We took Hannah and Seamus to St. Michaels today. The weather was perfect and the day was great. After eating breakfast, we walked down Main Street for some shopping. Then we went to the Maritime Museum. Hannah got to climb on lots of boats. She really had a good time. We went to the Crab Claw for a late lunch. You would have thought I'd learned my lesson and just ordered enough crabs for her too, but NOOOOOOOOO. The child eats my shrimp, so we just order her a regular shrimp meal when we go out for seafood. She said she didn't want any crabs and I believed her. When the orders came, she asked for just a little taste and ended up eating all of the crab claws and some of the backfin. She really got into using the crab mallet. Next time I'll know better.
